2014년 4월 16일은 대한민국의 국민들 모두가 슬픔에 잠긴 날입니다. 트리플래닛은 4월 16일의 희생자들을 모두가 잊지 않고 기억하기를 바라는 마음에서 세월호 추모숲을 조성하고 싶었습니다. 인스파이어/디는 팽목항 인근에 조성되는 세월호 추모숲의 의미를 모두가 이해할 수 있도록 ‘foREST IN PEACE, 세월호 기억의 숲’ 이라는 브랜딩을 진행하였습니다.

오드리 헵번의 첫째 아들인 션 헵번의 제안으로 시작되어, 오드리 헵번 가족, 416 가족협의회, 사회혁신기업 트리플래닛이 함께 협의하여 진행한 foREST IN PEACE 크라우드펀딩은 숲 조성을 위한 최소 금액인 1억 원의 2배가 넘는 금액이 모이며 팽목항 인근에 희생자를 영원히 기억할 수 있는 세월호 추모 숲을 조성할 수 있었습니다.

The tragic sinking of Sewol ferry on April 16th of 2014 took the lives of 304 passengers onboard, 250 of which were high school students on their way to a field trip. The disaster left many South Koreans devastated and deeply shocked. To articulate the concept and significance of the Memorial Forest, the campaign brand's name 'FoRest in Peace' was coined by putting together the word 'forest' with an idiomatic expression 'rest in peace'. 
The map showing the landscape of the forest and the site of the incident was used as a graphic motif to create a crowd funding campaign.Thanks to the participation from Sean Hepburn, Audrey Hepburn's son, and the nationwide crowd-funding efforts, the contribution added up to more than twice the initial funding goal which was 100,000 USD. 
In memory of the date of incident, Sewol Memorial Forest was constructed on a location exactly 4.16km away from where the incident actually happened. Following the campaign's success, a round of similar campaigns were launched to commemorate the victims of the Battle of Yeonpyeong and 'comfort women' in South Korea.
